Verstappen struggles to win: 'That made it very difficult'

Max Verstappen has scored his 50th victory in Formula 1. The US Grand Prix did not go to plan for the Dutchman, who spoke after the race about his race weekend in America.

Verstappen had to come from sixth place at the American Grand Prix, and so he knew beforehand that it would be a tall order. The battle with Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton was especially tough, and Verstappen also had some discussions with his race engineer at the end of the race.

"The whole race, I was struggling a lot with the brakes. Around here there are quite a few braking points, I couldn't really have the same feeling as yesterday so that definitely made my race a bit tougher out here today. It was very close at the end and also with the backmarkers, the tyres are already going so it makes it more difficult," said Verstappen after the race.

"It's incredible to win my 50th Grand Prix here. Very proud of course and we will keep on trying to push for more." Jenson Button, the reporter on duty, also asked Verstappen about winning his 50th Grand Prix.
