Sergio Perez and Force India have had a difficult time off the track recently, but he expects to sign a new contract with the team after they were brought out of administration.

Lawrence Stroll, father of Lance Stroll led a Canadian consortium to help bring the team out of administration, and it looks only a matter of time until the Mexican re-signs for 2019.

Perez has been with the team since 2014, after he was dropped following a disappointing year with McLaren in 2013.

Perez has shown his undeniable talent on multiple occasions, scoring eight podium positions in his career, which started with Sauber in 2011.

Perez has now revealed that he had the opportunity to be reunited with his old Force India team mate Nico Hulkenberg at Renault, but decided to stay loyal to Force India.

Perez said: "I do not regret not having signed with Renault, because these last two years, I was the best of the rest by obtaining incredible results.

“As a team, we came twice in fourth place in the constructors' championship ahead of Renault."

The Renault seat has been taken by Daniel Ricciardo, who decided to end his 5 year relationship with Red Bull.
