Max Verstappen and his team, Verstappen Racing, finished fourth in FP2 of the GT World Challenge Europe weekend at the Portimao circuit. The #17 Mercedes-AMG set the pace in the session.
Verstappen took on the first stint once again in FP2, and was initially the eighth fastest during the session. In the end, it was Chris Lulham who set the quickest time with the #3 Mercedes-AMG car.
As it happened: Verstappen's first stint and Lulham's improvement
Verstappen was the first to drive the #3 Mercedes-AMG car during the second free practice session at the Portimao circuit. After his first flying laps, the Dutchman was sitting in eighth place, around four tenths of a second behind the leader.
After Verstappen's first stint, it was Ben Barnicoat's turn to take the wheel for Verstappen Racing. The Briton did not improve on Verstappen's fastest lap, and the #3 car dropped to P10 by the end of his stint.

With around half an hour to go, it was then Lulham's turn to take the wheel. He is Verstappen Racing's regular driver in the GT World Challenge Europe series. The Briton returned to the pit lane with 10 minutes remaining in the session and received a fresh set of tyres for his final laps. Lulham then improved to P4 with a time of 1:43.229.
Barnicoat then returned to the track for a final run before the chequered flag was waved, but was unable to improve on the #3 car's best lap time despite setting a green first sector.
