In a farewell interview with L'Equipe four-time F1 champion Sebastian Vettel discusses the current form of his former employer Ferrari. The German thinks he knows what is going wrong, but does not want to share his advice for the team with the world.

Ferrari is fighting back at the top after two very difficult years, but was beaten by Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen partly due to its own mistakes and blunders. The Italian racing team will even have to look behind and defend against Mercedes in the last race of the season to avoid losing P2 in the constructors' standings.

Vettel does not share advice for Ferrari

Vettel has a lot of experience at Ferrari and thinks he knows what could be improved. Speaking to the French Medium, the German says: "I have some ideas about what could be different in that team, but I keep them to myself. What you see from the outside is just an interpretation of what is really going on. We don't have the whole story." Vettel therefore calls the criticism of Mattia Binotto's team unfair.

Vettel: "We pay a lot of attention to it because there is an entire country behind that team. You don't see that anywhere else. Maybe the abundance of attention creates too much pressure." The pressure on Ferrari is palpable, not only during race weekends the team often succumbs to these nerves, but off the track things don't always run smoothly either. The latest rumours are that team boss Binotto would be replaced. Ferrari denies this story.
