The pressure on Mick Schumacher increases with each Grand Prix and it will be no different for the next one. The German himself is hoping for points and he will have to achieve them if he wants to keep his seat in F1.

Schumacher has scored 12 points this season. He did so before the summer break in Austria and Britain. His first points in Formula 1 were celebrated, but after those scores he is still well behind the 22 points already scored by Kevin Magnussen. Meanwhile, Guenther Steiner and Gené Haas are increasing the pressure on the young driver.

Huge pressure on Schumacher

According to Steiner, Schumacher has the home field advantage in the hunt for the 2023 seat, but team owner Haas also looked critically at Mick. According to the American, Schumacher would have wrecked too many cars and can only secure his future at Haas if he manages to score points.

Schumacher is in a predicament in that regard, but he does think Haas has a good chance of scoring points in Austin. The Circuit of the Americas should suit the VF-22 well. ''We know the last period was difficult. Sometimes we just had unlucky races or weekends. Hopefully, we can turn this around here by scoring some points,'' Schumacher told Motorsport.com.

Meanwhile, Haas is also looking at alternatives to Schumacher. Steiner, for instance, already revealed that Daniel Ricciardo could just call him and that talks with Nico Hulkenberg are also said to have already taken place. Antonio Giovinazzi is also mentioned, but does not seem to have a serious chance of getting the 2023 seat.
