After Guanyu Zhou's mega-crash, a red flag was raised immediately. Protestors present on the circuit immediately made use of this by running onto the track. Fortunately, the marshals were able to intervene immediately.

The protestors were immediately removed from the track and the matter is now being handled by the local authorities, the FIA announced in a statement. Valtteri Bottas could see the people running onto the track on the left side of the circuit during the first lap. Fortunately, because of the red flag, the drivers were already driving slowly along the track.

Warning for demonstrators

A warning was issued on Friday by Northamptonshire Police that demonstrators were planning to disrupt the race at Silverstone.
