At Ferrari, the past few weeks have been miserable. The Italian team has already missed out on a lot of World Cup points due to reliability problems. Yet Red Bull Racing must remain vigilant, according to Jan Lammers. Ferrari is and remains a formidable competitor.

The former Formula 1 driver reminds us in the Formula 1 podcast of the NOS briefly reminds us that Leclerc was able to capture pole position in convincing fashion. "If the Ferrari's stay in one piece later on and they have solved the problems, Red Bull is not 'home-free' again. So yes, they have a nice lead in terms of points, but I think they're going to need those points badly too. A lot is still going to happen."

No panic at Ferrari

We currently have eight Grands Prix behind us, with fourteen more to follow in 2022. So there is still enough time for Ferrari to turn the backlog in both the drivers' and constructors' championships into a lead. Lammers therefore does not believe there is panic at the factory in Maranello, Italy.

"I think we give them too little credit if we start using terms like 'frustrated' or 'panic'. Of course it is grist to the mill when something goes wrong at an Italian team. Then we think there is immediate panic, but I heard Binotto after the match and there is just someone who is very relaxed and balanced," said Lammers.

Binotto calm after Baku fiasco

That team boss Mattia Binotto was not the happiest man in the paddock should be clear Sunday afternoon. The top man emphasized that solving the reliability problems is priority number one. He also said that he would rather have a fast car whose reliability needed to be repaired than the other way around.
