Orange is currently the colour of choice in international motorsports. With Max Verstappen and Nyck de Vries as champions in Formula 1 and Formula E, and Rinus Veekay creating a furore in IndyCars, MP Motorsports is now also rising to great heights. The Dutch team saw their driver Felipe Drugovich win the main race at Monaco in Formula 2.

Fourth victory

Drugovich is the man to beat this season in the class just below Formula 1. The Brazilian won his fourth race of the season in Monaco, extending his lead in the championship. Drugovich has 113 points. His closest pursuer Theo Pourchaire has accumulated 81 points.

In Monaco, it was also Pourchaire who pushed Drugovich to the limit. The Frenchman was on the tail of MP Motorsport's car until the last lap. However, Drugovich defended perfectly, even with tires that were totally worn out. Remarkable was the great disappointment afterwards of Pourchaire, who made his apologies over the board radio to his team ART about missing out on the victory. Juri Vips finished third in Monaco.

Biggest candidate

MP Motorsport, modest for years, has gold in its hands with Drugovich this year. The Brazilian is in great shape, which makes MP Motorsport the biggest candidate for the title. Not only does the team from Westmaas lead the drivers' championship, but it is also proudly on top in the constructors' category.
