Mark Webber thinks it's going to be a tough job for Red Bull Racing to come back into the fight for the championship. In Australia, the Austrian team missed out on eighteen points as Max Verstappen crashed out from second position.

Red Bull loses a lot of points

Webber is not pleased with his old employer Red Bull. According to the nine-time Grand Prix winner, the RB18 is fast, but the car was not fast enough to win the Australian Grand Prix. "But when you hemorrhage eighteen points and maybe the fastest lap and all the rest of it, they are big points down the drain, huge points," Webber told Channel 4.

For the third time in three races, at least one of the two Red Bull cars failed to cross the finish line in 2022. In Bahrain, both drivers failed to finish, while in Saudi Arabia there were first and fourth place finishes. At Albert Park in Australia, the team seemed to be heading for a neat second and third place, but Max Verstappen had to end his race early due to a technical problem.

Leclerc wins again

While Verstappen crashed out for the second time in three races, Charles Leclerc won his second Grand Prix of 2022. According to Webber, Red Bull will not make up for this loss any time soon. "These points are going to be tricky to get back," the Australian concludes.
