''It is very interesting that Ferrari now chooses to test at Mugello''

Ferrari tested this week with the 2018 car at the circuit of Mugello. Ferrari is the owner of that circuit, but it is not entirely coincidental that Ferrari chose that circuit for the test for the Formula 1 season of 2020.
Ferrari was originally going to test on their Fiorano test track, but changed that last minute. No problem you would say, because the circuit in Mugello also belongs to Ferrari. However, Mugello is on the shortlist to organize a Grand Prix in 2020 and the test of Ferrari could prove that that race is really going to happen.

Ferrari and AlphaTauri in favor?

''It is very interesting that Ferrari has suddenly switched circuits. They can always drive there, because it is their track, but the timing is spicy. Now they had time to collect some data for the possible race. The amount of data with such an old car is of course limited, but it's an interesting choice'', says Marc Priestley in his latest video.
The former mechanic of McLaren also saw that Ferrari was not the only one who deliberately chose a circuit. ''AlphaTauri actually did the same thing, by doing a test at the Imola circuit. That will be for the same reason'', concludes Priestley. Whether the tests have been useful, we won't know until the rest of the F1 calendar is announced.
