If it were up to AlphaTauri team boss
Franz Tost,
Mick Schumacher would make his
Formula 1 debut in 2021. The son of seven-time world champion
Michael Schumacher is currently leading the
Formula 2 championship and seems to be aiming for a seat at Alfa Romeo or
Haas F1.
Tost says that Schumacher has become very mature.
"I am very much looking forward to him and I hope he will drive in Formula 1 next year. He has had many successes in recent years and is currently in the lead in F2. I can only keep my fingers crossed for him," said Tost to the
German Sport 1.
Alfa Romeo currently seems to be the most realistic chance for Schumacher to get into
Formula 1. Should this happen, we will probably not see
Antonio Giovinazzi back in F1 in 2021. In that case, who will drive next to Schumacher is not sure yet either.
Kimi Raikkonen does not yet have a contract for 2021 and
Sergio Perez and Nico Hülkenberg are also on the market.
