Marquez brothers back on track before the 2026 MotoGP pre-season

Marc Marquez completed some miles on track ahead of the upcoming MotoGP shakedown test in Spain together with his brother Alex.

Defending world champion Marc Marquez is preparing for the new season at the Aspar Circuit, near Valencia.

The MotoGP pre-season begins with the shakedown test in Sepang from 29 to 31 January.

After securing his title during his debut season with the Ducati factory team, the Spaniard suffered an injury after a crash with Marco Bezzecchi that ruled him out for the final rounds of the 2025 campaign.

Marc was joined by his brother Alex Marquez on track, the circuit shared on social media. The younger Marquez will continue to race for Gresini Racing in 2026 after finishing second in last season’s riders’ championship last year.

According to rumours, the seven-time MotoGP champion has already extended his contract with the Italian team until the 2028 campaign.

While no deal has been openly confirmed yet by either party, but a report by Motorsport.com previously claimed that the deal was signed in private during Ducati's launch at Madonna di Campiglio ski resort.
