The 2026 German Grand Prix at the legendary Sachsenring circuit probably won't go down as one of the all-time classics, but it's implications for the championship this season could be huge.
Following Marco Bezzecchi's injury in qualifying yesterday, there was plenty of opportunity for pole-sitter Marc Marquez to capitalize. Having taken the holeshot from the start, Marc did precisely that, clearing off into the lead and never really looking back afterwards.
Championship contender Fabio Di Giannantonio slid out early in the race and was seen apologising to his team in the pits afterwards. Alex Marquez then dropped out of second place while trying to follow Marc and crashed at the final corner on Lap 9.
The win is Marquez's third of the season and his tenth in the premier class at the Sachsenring. It means that he now moves up to third in the championship standings behind Jorge Martin.
