Bagnaia: Silverstone is a 'cause for concern for Ducati'

The Italian rider had a weekend to forget at Silverstone. The Ducati rider failed to make it through to Q2, did not score points during the Sprint, and crashed out during Sunday's race as well.

Speaking to Sky Italia, he said after the race: "This can't go on like this. My performance this weekend was very strange; I had absolutely no grip. It's true that my weak point is rear grip, but this is too much."

Ducati had a difficult weekend as a factory team and as a manufacturer as well. Only Alex Marquez was capable of keeping up with the Aprilias, who claimed all three podium spots with Raúl Fernandez (Trackhouse), Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi (factory riders). The Gresini rider finished fourth. Marc Marquez also struggled, and finished only seventh on Sunday.

Bagnaia continued: "I'm very disappointed; we all know we can do better. The fact that the factory team is having so many problems at a circuit like this is a major cause for concern. We need to work on improving, because in this case, I wasn't the only one who struggled."

After struggling during the Sprint and the race as well, Marquez lost considerable ground in the title battle. Speaking to DAZN after the race, he explained: “It's the same thing I've been saying all along - we have to improve if we want to fight for the championship.
