Since bringing a floor upgrade to the Italian Grand Prix, Red Bull and
Max Verstappen have been almost unstoppable, with the Dutchman winning three out of the last four races to cut
Oscar Piastri's championship
lead from 104 points to just 40 points.
The Australian's blip in form has seen him miss out on the podium in the last three Grands Prix, searching for a first win since the Dutch Grand Prix, just after the summer break.
Piastri's woes have carried over to Mexico, however, with a P12 finish in FP2, all he could muster. Teammate
Lando Norris, along with Verstappen, will be hoping to outperform the 24-year-old once again in qualifying and
close the gap in the drivers' championship with five remaining Grands Prix.

War of words taking place
It's not just on track that is seeing battle lines be drawn, with
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella and Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko exchanging words in the paddock.
Stella had his say first on Friday in Mexico City,
believing that Red hull are "happier to give up a little bit" with their 2026 development as a result of their floor update brought to Monza.
After being faced with these comments,
Marko just laughed them off, pointing to Mercedes in 2021:
“It was the same story in 2021. Toto was really worried that we wouldn’t be competitive in 2022,” the Austrian explained.
