This is what Schumacher has to say about De Vries' possible move to F1

In 2019, De Vries and Schumacher Jr. drove together in Formula 2. The driver from Sneek then became champion, the following year the driver from Ooster turned out to be his successor. So Schumacher has fought duels with De Vries on occasion. "If I had to say, he did a goob job in Formula 2 and he does a good job in Formula E so possible yeah."

De Vries is currently the frontrunner in the Formula E championship. In the electric class, he competes for Mercedes' factory team. Those ties with the German team may now earn him a spot at Williams. Mercedes supplies the engines and gearboxes, among other things, to Williams and in exchange the team is often allowed to assign one seat to someone.
