Tennis champion Carlos Alcaraz has revealed which current Formula 1 driver he would gladly team up with for a doubles tennis match.
Carlos Alcaraz and Fernando Alonso—two very different sports, yet both have achieved great success in their respective fields and proudly carried the colors of Spain in the world to the top.
The Spanish tennis player, fresh off his Roland Garros victory after a grueling match against Jannik Sinner, has expressed that he is a big Formula 1 fan—especially a great admirer of the two-time world champion and fellow countryman.

Alcaraz picks Alonso for a doubles match

When asked who he would like to play a doubles match with, the Spaniard had no hesitation in answering: “Definitely Fernando Alonso'', he told ATP social media channels.
“He knows how to play tennis, and I think he would be a great teammate.“I admire F1 because behind the results there’s a team effort. Drivers have to follow the team’s instructions. In tennis, you have to face everything on your own.”
Alcaraz is no stranger to showing admiration for the two-time world champion. Back in 2023, after winning his round of 16 match at the Miami Open, the Spaniard wrote a message on the camera that read, “33? Soon?” — a clear nod to Alonso’s potential 33rd victory, a milestone he has been chasing since 2013.
