'Porsche finds no alternative to Red Bull and parks F1 wish'

Porsche will not join Formula 1, The Race reported on Wednesday morning. The German was close to a partnership with Red Bull Racing last year, but that deal fell through at the last minute. The iconic brand looked at the possibilities of joining forces with another team, but has now decided not to put any more time into a possible F1 adventure.
Porsche still finds the Formula 1 championship very interesting, but would therefore no longer be actively looking for a partner team. The 'formal evaluation' is said to have been completed and it has emerged that joining the king class of motorsport does not bring enough benefits at the moment.
This seems to be mainly because there are currently no teams interested in partnering Porsche. Or vice versa: teams that they itself finds interesting. Porsche wants to be able to be directly competitive by 2026 and it is thought that this is not realistic with all the existing racing teams.
The Race wrote that resuming the search for a partner team in the future is not completely out of the question, but at least for now it is on the back burner. A Formula 1 entry in 2026 does not seem to be in the cards at the moment anyway. For now, Porsche is concentrating on the motorsport classes it is already active in, such as Formula E and long-distance racing.
