'Mercedes and FIA say nothing yet about how first meeting went'

Last Friday, an initial conversation took place between Toto Wolff and FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem. The meeting between the two men had everything to do with the controversy that unfolded in the closing stages of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in which Lewis Hamilton missed out on his eighth world title.
The talks now underway are not about who is the justified champion, but about how the competition remains fair and similar situations can be avoided in the future.

The BBC has asked both Mercedes and the FIA to come up with an initial response. Mercedes is currently refraining from commenting in any form, while the FIA has not responded to requests from the British medium. We will have to be patient for the time being, as the whole investigation was only launched last week.
In the meantime it has been more than a month since the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and it is precisely this that is causing raised eyebrows. For the FIA and the future of Formula 1 a lot depends on the results of the investigation, but in the first four weeks after the final race nothing has happened. What's more, the results won't be publicly announced for another two months, in mid-March....
