At Red Bull Racing, it was known that Max Verstappen would have to make the move in the third sector. Charles Leclerc ruled the roost with his Ferrari in the twistier section in Sector 1, but in the end, Verstappen managed to stay close enough to attack later in the lap. Marko is ecstatic.
"Thanks to the higher top speed, we were able to overtake Ferrari. But that was an incredible maneuver, so he's worth his money," Marko tells Sky with a wink. Red Bull's advisor explains that the tyre degradation was less than expected, so Verstappen was instructed to give full pressure to Leclerc in the last ten laps.
Where Verstappen and his side of the garage can't believe their luck, the grapes are sour for Sergio Perez. He failed to convert his first pole position into a podium finish."The safety car was not optimal, Pérez lost a podium that way. Safety car knows winners and losers," said the man from Graz. But why did Perez give up the lead in the race? "Perez had more tyre wear. That's why we had to bring him in a lap earlier."

Marko enjoyed to the fullest

At De Telegraaf, Marko once again underlines what a great race we have been watching this Sunday night. "This was one of the best races I have seen in the last ten years."
