Leclerc doesn't expect miracles despite updates: "They're too fast"

Charles Leclerc came surprisingly second during the opening game of the season. Partly due to many dropouts and several times the Saftey Car. The Monegask therefore does not expect miracles for the Styrian Grand Prix.

Red Bull and Mercedes too fast

Scuderia Ferrari was ridiculed after the qualifying of the Austrian Grand Prix because they were only tenth and eleventh. In the race their lack of power was disguised by a handsome second place from Leclerc. The Monegasque therefore does not expect miracles despite a few updates, such as a new front wing.
"Realistically it will be difficult to beat Red Bull and Mercedes", Leclerc opened the press conference against Formel1.de among others. "They are both very fast." The Ferrari driver only sees chances of a podium if there are again many incidents like last weekend.

No podium despite updates for Leclerc

"I don't think we can make it to the stage on our own," Leclerc is clear. "To get there we need help from the Saftey car". The updates won't change that, thinks the Ferrari driver. A painful observation.
The question is whether Ferrari can already keep up with the pace of McLaren and Racing Point, let alone Mercedes and Red Bull. Last weekend both teams managed to qualify out of midfield for the Italian race stable.
