Sebastien Buemi did not emerge unscathed from the incident with Maximilian Guenther that occurred in the early stages of the Formula E race in Sao Paulo.

Injury for Buemi

Buemi hit the back of Guenther's Maserati and described the incident himself as a "ridiculous accident" for which he holds his rival responsible. In that incident, Guenther attempted to give back positions he had gained by taking a shortcut at turns one and two, but Buemi hit him in the process.
The Envision Racing driver explained that Guenther made an "extreme brake", which according to him caused the accident. "He cut the chicane on his own, so the rule says if you cut the chicane on your own you need to stop, and then you go again," Buemi is quoted as saying by The Race.
"He didn’t give the position [back], and then the next corner he stopped in Turn 4. Like, just stopped. So, I hit him and I snapped my hand. He should not have even been there because if he had respected the rule, he would have been behind," he adds. How serious the injury is and whether there is a possible fracture, Buemi will hear when he has X-rays taken on Sunday.
