Last season was Antonio Giovinazzi's first full season in Formula 1. The Italian will drive in service of Alfa Romeo and will also be seen next season in the car of the Italian car manufacturer. Giovinazzi is the only Italian in Formula 1 and doesn't feel any pressure from Italian F1 fans to perform, he says in the Sky Sports Vodcast.
"I'm very proud to have brought the Italian flag back on the F1 grid as a driver, especially as there are so many Italian brands involved in Formula 1. It was great to see the support at Monza last year". He won't see that support again this year as there will be no fans at the Grand Prix in Italy.

Continuing the upward trend

Last season Giovinazzi had a lot of trouble with his teammate Kimi Raikkonen. Already at the beginning of the season the Finn was clearly the boss within the team. As the season progressed Giovinazzi managed to get on better with the Alfa Romeo and at the end of the season it was the Italian who performed better. Nevertheless, the two have a good friendship.
"Of course I had a difficult start last season, but in the second part of the season I was able to fight a lot more with Kimi". Giovinazzi's plan for next season is to continue the upward trend of 2019. "My main goal for now is to make the Italian fans proud and to perform enormously well, like the end of last season", said Giovinazzi.
