Filming during Monza Grand Prix weekend: Brad Pitt present

While the shooting of a film about Formula 1 in Zandvoort did not go ahead, shots for the film will be taken during the race weekend in Monza. Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport confirms that the protagonists will be at the circuit for film shoots during and after the weekend of the Italian Grand Prix.

Earlier this season, footage was shot during a race weekend. Footage of the film project was shot during the British Grand Prix. Before that, Pitt and the other actors were even given their own pit box to assemble the car used in the film. Filming was also already underway in Hungary. There, however, Pitt was not in the picture, but stunt drivers were used.

Gazzetta now reports that Pitt and others will be at Monza for filming. Pitt plays the role of Sonny Hayes in the film, an experienced driver who comes out of his driver's retirement to mentor a young talent in Formula 1. The role of the young driver is played by actor Damson Idris.

Formula 1 fans have been looking forward to the film 'Apex' for months. It is not yet clear when the film will premiere, but it is already clear that Apex will be shown on Apple+, among others. Dawn Apolo Films, Lewis Hamilton's production company, is involved in the project.
