For Lewis Hamilton, the 2020 season seems to become a dominant season again. Mercedes' Briton has won the World Championship dominantly in recent years and after the first races of the current season he seems to win the championship again. Flavio Briatore thinks he just isn't as strong as the results show.
"He is strong, but he looks so strong because he has never really been pressured by his competitors in recent years," explains Briatore to Italian L'Insider. "The only time he was really pressured was against Nico Rosberg and then he lost the championship to the German".

Multiple drivers can win

Briatore explains that there are several drivers on the current F1 grid who can take over from Valtteri Bottas to challenge Hamilton. "Everyone knows that the car is more important than the driver. I think that's also the case with Mercedes. With the car that Lewis has, four or five other drivers would also become world champions".
According to Briatore, dealing with the pressure is one of the most important characteristics of a driver. "I remember that Fernando Alonso once had Michael Schumacher behind him in Imola in 2005 and that he managed to keep the German behind him for 40 laps. There are drivers who can cope with that pressure, or not", concludes Briatore.
