Where two months ago no one thought Verstappen could re-enter the title fight, after his two wins in Baku things have changed.
Betting sites had also ruled Verstappen out of the title fight, which up until now was quite clearly a McLaren-only affair with Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris trading wins weekend after weekend.
But now, with the Dutchman's recent run of back-to-back wins at Monza and Baku, the odds have swung Verstappen's way.
Whereas in the past betting sites had him at 50/1, after his victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Verstappen now stands at 9/1.
As for both McLaren drivers, Piastri remains the favorite with his odds standing at 4/9 despite his lap 1 crash in Azerbaijan. The runner-up in the Drivers' standings, Norris, can count his odds at 9/4.
Should he string along another strong result in the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix, then those odds, both on track as well as on the betting sites, will only improve.

F1 pundits believe Max Verstappen is back in it

Speaking on Sky Sports' The F1 Show podcast, current F1 analyst Jamie Chadwick believed Verstappen was too good to be ruled out of the fight, claiming he, among the current crop of F1 drivers, was the “greatest one we have.”
These comments mirror what McLaren boss Andrea Stella, championship leader Oscar Piastri, and runner-up Lando Norris have stated recently.
