Alpine have announced Steve Nielsen as the team's new Managing Director ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix. He will work under the leadership of Flavio Briatore and will only begin at the team ahead of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in September.
Nielsen is returning to the team and he was key to the Enstone-based team's championship winning success with Fernando Alonso in 2005 and 2006.
He was the Sporting Director and also worked for the team under their Benetton title earlier in his career.
As well as his wealth of experience at Enstone, Nielsen has also worked at the FIA across his lengthy motorsport career.
Alongside Nielsen, Alpine has also announced a multitude of other hires as it looks to progress up the field.
They have signed Kris Midgley as Head of Aerodynamic Development and Guy Martin as Global Marketing Director.
Nielsen was a candidate to replace Oliver Oakes, who left the team last month and hopes to turn Alpine's fortunes around.
