The stewards have shared their verdict on the incident concerning Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc.
After the Safety Car restart, Verstappen was running in third position ahead of Leclerc, but because he was on a three-stop strategy, Red Bull pitted him for a set of fresh hards, the only new tyres at their disposal. The Dutchman's car snapped out of the final corner on cold tyres, and Leclerc could attack him immediately on the straight.
As the two were side by side, they made contact at high speed. After their investigation concluded, the stewards revealed that no further action will be taken, as both "were moving slightly towards each other," and neither driver "were wholly on predominantly to blame" See their full explanation below.
For his incident with George Russell afterwards, Verstappen already received a ten-second penalty and three penalty points. That means he is one points away from a suspension.
