Kimi Antonelli was not penalized for impeding Lando Norris in SQ2 of the Chinese Grand Prix.
The Italian driver originally qualified in second place for Saturday's Sprint, and can keep his position.
After SQ2, the Mercedes driver was investigated for impeding Norris, but was not handed a three-place grid penalty. That is because the defending world champion was not on a push lap, he explained to the stewards after the session.
As a result, Norris, Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri will not gain a single position.
This is the second weekend in a row that these two drivers have been involved in an incident. In Australia, the Mercedes driver left a sidepod cooling fan on track in Q3, and after it bounced off his car, Norris ran over it.
