George Russell has secured Pole Position for the Barcelona GP, giving himself the best possible chance of victory around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in tomorrow's Grand Prix.
Russell's quickest lap time of 1:14.679 in Q3 was enough to edge out Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli for Pole.
After a relatively quiet start to Qualifying, drama ensued in Q3 when Charles Leclerc crashed with eight minutes to go. The Monegasque lost grip at Turn 4, going wide and heavily into the barrier, thankfully he was out of the cockpit in good time.

Q2 saw a close battle to make the final 10, with McLaren facing pressure after the initial flying runs - Norris and Piastri not looking as strong as they did in practice but nonetheless escaping Q2 elimination. The same could not be said for Arvid Lindblad, Gabriel Bortoleto, Franco Colapinto, Pierre Gasly, Ollie Bearman, and Carlos Sainz.

At the back of the grid, Aston Martin's woes continued, with both drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso failing to make it out of Q1. Stroll, however, did beat Alonso in Qualifying for the first time since the 2024 British GP.
The Astons were at the very bottom though, with P21 and P22 finishes. Also out in Q1 were the two Cadillac drivers Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, Esteban Ocon, and Alex Albon.
