Verstappen was also on the radio himself shortly after to insist that he had let Hamilton back through.
Verstappen was called to see the stewards at 10:15pm local time. If found to have breached the rules, then he could face a five place grid penalty.

Sky Sports F1’s Karun Chandhok has spoken about the possible penalty

"I’ve had a quick look at the FIA penalty guidelines, and bear in mind that these are guidelines, the stewards don’t have to do this - they have different ways to look at it, different cameras, and also take the evidence from the drivers.
"But in the penalty guidelines, it does say that it’s a five-place grid penalty for overtaking under single yellows in qualifying.

"We’ll see what Max’s defence is and whether the stewards will let him off the hook."
