McLaren has been fined €5,000 for releasing Stoffel Vandoorne with a loose wheel during a live pit-stop in FP2 this afternoon.
Vandoorne stopped out on track towards the end of the session confirming on the team radio his rear tyre wasn’t put on properly.
A statement from the FIA said: ”Consistent with previous decisions of a similar nature, the stewards decided that the grid place penalty...would not be applied as the driver took all appropriate actions at the first available opportunity.
Last week in Bahrain Ferrari were fined €50,000 for another pit-stop incident which resulted in one mechanic breaking his leg.
