FIA confirms four new power-unit elements for Verstappen in Baku

The report says the Red Bull Racing RB Ford driver had previously used three engines, three turbochargers and three exhaust sets this season, making the newly fitted items his fourth of each. He had previously used four power-unit ancillary components, making the new one his fifth.

The FIA states that all four changes comply with the 2026 Formula One Sporting Regulations. The season’s permitted allocation is four each of the engine, turbocharger and exhaust set, and six power-unit ancillary components.

It means he will start today's Azerbaijan GP in eighth place, where he qualified. Red Bull will hope the new engine will allow him to make up ground during the race.
