Following negotiations with the FIA, Max Verstappen surrendered his first position for P3, leaving Esteban Ocon to start from P1 on the second restart for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Verstappen got away well from third place and regained the lead towards turn one. Ocon ran wide, bringing him back in to P1, but he handed his position back to Verstappen. Lewis Hamilton dropped back to P3 at the start.
