These are the most likely candidates for a seat at Renault

Renault has lost the intended leader of the future. Daniel Ricciardo will leave for the competitor McLaren at the end of 2020, so Renault will have to look for a new driver. Marc Priestley walks past all the options.
The name that goes around most in the corridors is that of Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard rode for Renault for two periods already and even became world champion with the French formation in 2005 and 2006. However, the current Renault is not able to fight for the title and that raises questions.

Alonso back in Formula 1?

Fernando only wanted to return to Formula 1 if he could win. With Renault that does not seem to be the case at least until 2022. Does Alonso want to return to the sport and does he opt for known territory, is there no other option for Alonso or will the Spaniard not go to Renault at all? Priestley gives his opinion.

The other options for Renault are also passing by. What about a return of Nico Hulkenberg, for example, or does Renault opt for its own talent? With Guanyu Zhou and Christian Lundgaard Renault has two great talents in training, but the question is whether they are ready for a step to Formula 1?
