MCL35M in action at Silverstone with Norris first behind the wheel

After yesterday's presentation of the new MCL35M, McLaren go straight to the track. The new car of Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo is tested on the Silverstone circuit for a film day.

McLaren has the special task in 2021, in a year in which the car is hardly allowed to change anything, to integrate a completely new engine into the current chassis. McLaren was allowed to make some small adjustments, but it could not be done completely to their wishes. Therefore, McLaren still has to do a lot of testing.

With only three days of winter testing in Bahrain, McLaren makes optimal use of the available filming days an F1 team has. A team is allowed to drive twice 100 kilometres on Pirelli demo tyres. McLaren will drive those 200 kilometres already before the first winter test to collect as much data as possible about the new Mercedes engine.
