Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll experienced an incredibly hard crash at the Circuit of the Americas. The two drivers were driving in the points and fighting for position, but it did not end well. Alonso fully hit the back of Stroll and flew into the air with his Alpine.
Alonso is in Stroll's slipstream and moves to the left to make an overtake. However, the Canadian also moves to the left at that moment, causing Alonso to hit the back of the Aston Martin rock hard. As a result, Alonso's Alpine flies into the air. Fortunately, both men suffer no injuries.

Alonso can continue

For Stroll, it is the end of the story in the United States. Alonso still managed to reach his team in the pit lane and was able to continue after some light repair work. The two-time world champion re-entered the track in second-to-last place and does not seem to have any more claim to World Cup points.
