Formula One drivers are so used to the presence of cameras that they do not always seem to be aware that their conversations are being recorded. Sergio Perez, for example, accidentally revealed during the Monaco Grand Prix that he had signed an extension to his contract with Red Bull Racing, and Pierre Gasly recently failed to mention 'contract negotiations'. Daniel Ricciardo also seems to have a clue about his future plans.

Ricciardo hints at future plans

While in conversation with Perez, Ricciardo can be heard discussing his options for next year. He will have to make way for Oscar Piastri at McLaren, meaning he may be without an F1 seat in 2023. A move to IndyCar would be a possibility, but Ricciardo has also previously indicated that he would consider a sabbatical. He is audibly discussing that option with the Red Bull driver. Seats will become available again in 2024, possibly paving the way for a return to F1 for the Australian.
