Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has backed Valtteri Bottas to come back in 2019 stronger than ever. The Finn played a back-up role last year to his teammate Lewis Hamilton.

The Finn Valtteri Bottas is currently active as Formula 1 driver for Mercedes-Benz alongside Lewis Hamilton. In 2010, the Finn was contracted by Williams to be their test driver for the year. Two years later, Bottas got offered a Williams seat for the 2013 season alongside cult hero Pastor Maldonado. It took Bottas a year to get his first podium-finish as he got it during the Grand Prix of Austria in 2014. At the end of 2016, Mercedes signed Bottas to replace the newly-crowned world champion and suddenly retired Nico Rosberg for 2017. In Russia 2017, Bottas seized the first victory of his F1-career.
