Christian Horner, following his clean break from Red Bull Racing, is rumoured to be eyeing a potential shares acquisition in Haas F1. But that won't happen, GPblog understands. Christian Horner is no longer a part of Red Bull Racing. Photo: RacePictures.
As several reports have suggested, Horner’s plans for a return to
Formula 1 may not revolve around simply taking up a Team Principal role, but rather re-emerging as a shareholder within a team.
Following
his official exit from Red Bull Racing as both Horner and his former employer agreed to the final details
surrounding the terms of the Brit's termination, the former Red Bull CEO and Team Principal is now ready to make his
F1 comeback in the second quarter of 2026, it is said.
With Alpine repeatedly denying that the Briton is under consideration at Enstone, Ferrari opting to renew Frédéric Vasseur, and Cadillac dismissing speculation of Horner leading their American project, another possibility has surfaced.
According to a report by the
Daily Mail, Horner is looking at buying a stake in Haas F1, owned by
Gene Haas.
But any suggestions that the 72-year-old American might be looking to sell his F1 venture have been categorically dismissed in the past by both Haas himself and current team boss Ayao Komatsu. GPblog understands this stance has not changed.
Horner, the Bernie Ecclestone of MotoGP?
After Guenther Steiner fronted
a consortium to acquire the Tech3 KTM MotoGP team, rumours swirled suggesting Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton could also
be linked to potential satellite team takeovers.
The Daily Mail report further claimed that former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone had advised Horner to consider a leading role in MotoGP – mirroring Ecclestone’s once-dominant presence in Formula 1.
However, Horner’s intentions appear to be firmly fixed on a Formula 1 return.
