It's looking more and more like Alfa-Romeo will take full charge of Sauber, as recent developments have suggested that the takeover could be imminent.
Alfa-Romeo is part of the massive FCA-brand (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), so there's certainly no shortage of cash. Sauber have already shown willingness to invest in the future themselves recently, as they lured away Ferrari's head designer Simone Resta.
Swiss news outlet Handelszeitung reports that Sauber has recently been taken over. Longbow Finance, the previous owners of Sauber, have been replaced by trust fund Islero Investments.
However, the owner of Longbow Finance, Pascal Picci, said that Sauber will not be taken over soon.
"For now, it [Sauber] will remain an independent party," he told Handelszeitung.
