Mercedes are expected to announce on Friday that Lewis Hamilton has extended his contract for at least the 2021 season. The Brit could sign a deal worth around 44 million Euros.

Mega contract for Hamilton

Mercedes have had great success with Hamilton at the wheel in recent years. Together they have already won seven world titles in a row and the British driver himself has won six titles. The Brit now has an enormous value on the track and that translates into the Brit's contract for 2021.
According to The Sun, Hamilton is signing a contract worth no less than EUR 44 million. An enormous sum, which in itself exceeds the limit of the future salary cap. It is said that new contracts will have to comply with this cap, but that does not appear to be the case. In the same report, The Sun also reports that Jim Ratcliffe, owner of sponsor Ineos, will become the owner of Mercedes in addition to Mercedes and Wolff.
