The FIA will revise the rules following the duel between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. According to the BBC, the FIA reached this conclusion after talks with the F1 drivers in Mexico.
On Friday, the usual driver briefing took place ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix. High on the agenda was the incident between Norris and Verstappen. The briefing looked at the penalty Norris got and Verstappen's defending. Several drivers reportedly felt Verstappen was taking advantage of a grey area in the regulations when defending.

A new 'Verstappen rule' on the way

This would involve Verstappen defending when he doesn't stay within the white lines. Drivers feel that this way, Verstappen is depriving the overtaker of a chance to attack. Drivers would rather see a rule change so that Verstappen (and others) can no longer get away with it.
In the drivers' briefing, the FIA listened to the drivers and stated that it would revise the guidelines. This will then be submitted to the drivers for approval.

Besides Verstappen's defence, the penalty Norris received is also said to have been looked at. The FIA explained why a penalty was handed out, and some drivers did not agree with it. The FIA will also revise the wording in this area as well.
