Charles Leclerc closed both free practice sessions in Monaco as the fastest. Ferrari seems to be the team to beat after Friday, while rival Red Bull Racing had a mediocre day. Whether Red Bull improves or not, according to Alexander Wurz the last sector is for Ferrari.

Ferrari otherworldly in sector three

Ferrari has been strong in the slower corners all year and therefore also dominated in sector three this weekend. Leclerc and Carlos Sainz cannot be caught by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in the very last corners. The speed over one lap therefore looks good again at Ferrari and in Monaco this is crucial. Getting the pole position in qualifying is already half the victory in the Principality, due to the limited overtaking opportunities.
Alexander Wurz, the president of the GPDA, says the sector time in sector three shows how superior Ferrari is. Motorsport-total.com Says Wurz calling Ferrari's times 'mega'. Wurz: "It is of another world." As long as Red Bull doesn't find improvements, it looks like an easy job for Leclerc to win his home race, provided he does finish it this time.
