The Williams Racing team has been hit with a double summons by the stewards following multiple incidents involving Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon at the Japanese Grand Prix Free Practice session. The Grove-based outfit found its drivers under investigation and was later summoned again after separate on-track incidents.
For Albon, the Thai driver was called to the stewards over a collision with Cadillac’s
Sergio Perez. The pair made contact during the closing stages of the Free Practice session in Japan, with Albon’s front wing striking Perez’s side pod while on a flying lap at Turn 15.
Both drivers are expected to meet the stewards with their team representatives at 13:00 local time.
Sainz will also appear before the stewards following an incident involving
Liam Lawson. The Racing Bulls driver was on a push lap and seemed to be held up by the Spanish driver. Sainz, alongside his team representative, will report at 13:15 local time.
