The revised rules on the flexible front wings will take effect at the Spanish Grand Prix. Peter Windsor has questions and opinions regarding what will happen to the teams afterwards.
Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner expects the new flexi wing technical regulations at the Spanish Grand Prix to affect Max Verstappen's fight against McLaren. However, Windsor is not so sure.
During a Q&A on his Youtube channel, Windsor said, "We're all waiting with bated breath as to how teams like Red Bull, Mercedes, and Ferrari will respond to the tighter front wing and flexi wing regulations we're going to have at the Spanish Grand Prix and whether that evens things out and all of a sudden McLaren no longer has an advantage."
He continued, "They still have a quick car, but they don't have this huge advantage. If that is the case, if McLaren no longer has a huge advantage and they're basically on parity with Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes, then yeah, Piastri versus Verstappen, stand back."
Despite a pole position in Miami, Verstappen had to acknowledge the superiority of both McLaren drivers.

Piastri vs who?

"Having said that, I think McLaren probably will still have an advantage after Spain over the rest of the year, and therefore Max will have his moments and he'll be alongside Piastri, you can be sure, in certain first corners at any given racetrack, but over a race distance."
Windsor continued, "The McLaren is still going to be the better car. Sadly, you could almost say, for the sake of Formula 1, let's hope that there's a great race between Piastri and Lando Norris."
Piastri is currently 16 points ahead of Norris in the World Drivers' Championship.
"But for that to happen, Lando needs to get some confidence, needs to get some momentum going again and needs to think a bit more clearly when he's in situations as he is turn one in Miami, when the clear logical thing would have been just to back away slightly, give Max the lead and then pass him DRS two laps later."
Is it clear that Windsor sees the fight between Piastri and someone else.
