Lewis Hamilton has expressed cautious optimism about Scuderia Ferrari’s prospects for the 2026 season. “We will have to play our part, and I believe that we can.”
- Lewis HamiltonSpeaking at the Qatar Grand Prix, the British driver was asked whether the Italian team could challenge for victories next year. Hamilton gave a measured response, acknowledging the significant work ahead while remaining hopeful.
He said: “I definitely think we have a lot of work to do over the winter. We'll analyse the season, and there are lots of improvements we need to make collectively, but I think no one in the team is under any illusion that we will have to play our part, and I believe that we can.
“I'm hoping we implement and make those changes, along with hopefully having a better package next year."

The seven-time champion was also asked about the possibility of outperforming his teammate,
Charles Leclerc, next season.
Maintaining his cautious optimism, Hamilton was quick to downplay such a possibility, stating that he is not too concerned about intra-team competition. The former Mercedes driver, however, concluded by stressing that he remains focused on getting the best out of himself and the team around him.
He explained: “I'm not concerned about it. I've just been focusing on my side during this period. Obviously, Charles has done a great job. He's been here for seven years. He has a team around him that he's worked with for many years, so it's a well-oiled machine.”
“On my side, it's a new group of people. For me, it's a new environment that I'm still getting used to working in. Then I had another new member join halfway through the year, so we're all working as hard as we can. But to get that to work as well as someone who's had it for several years, you don't just do it like that. It takes a bit of time,” he concluded.
