Toto Wolff’s Mercedes will not be ruling Ferrari out of the constructors championship quite yet as just three events remain in 2025.
“We just need to keep both feet on the ground.”

The Silver Arrows carry a 36-point margin over the Scuderia leading into the Las Vegas GP, courtesy of a season-best 43-point haul at the Brazil GP.
The Scuderia meanwhile suffered a double-DNF as both Mercedes and Red Bull Racing jumped ahead of the Italian team, who fell to P4 in the title.
Wolff, who has reportedly held talks about selling his 5% stake in Mercedes, however warned that Mercedes must keep on their toes as he argued there is nothing to stop them from suffering the same fate in the last three events of the season.
“You can see how quickly it goes. You have a weekend where you have a double DNF like they had, and the other teams scoring strong enough points," said Wolff.
“You can have the 30-point swing in the other direction in any of the three [remaining] races.
“So we just need to keep both feet on the ground, hopefully consolidate the gap and just take it day by day, weekend by weekend.”

Brazil shakes up the battle for P2

A career-best P2 for Kimi Antonelli and P4 for George Russell in Brazil, supported by a double podium in the Sprint, helped Mercedes to a mammoth 43-point haul, equalled only by McLaren.
Ferrari meanwhile, who had appeared to turn a corner with back-to-back podium finishes in the previous races in the United States and Mexico, suffered a miserable double-DNF as both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton had retired by lap 38.

Verstappen’s strong fight back from the pit lane on Sunday compounded a miserable weekend for Ferrari as they fell behind Red Bull Racing as well.
Eight-time constructors champions Mercedes are looking for their strongest finish since 2023, where they bettered Ferrari by just three points.
Last year Mercedes could only finish as high as P4 in the constructors standings, with Ferrari narrowly losing out to McLaren in P1 by just 14 points.
