Who will take third place and can AlphaTauri overtake Ferrari?

The Eifel Grand Prix was again a victory for Mercedes, but in midfield things are getting more and more exciting. Which team will be third in 2020 and will AlphaTauri Ferrari be able to catch up?

At the head of the constructors' championship it is not really exciting anymore. At 391 Mercedes is well ahead of Red Bull Racing, which is also well ahead of the new number three, Racing Point, with 211 points. The pink team has collected enough points at the Nürburgring to pass McLaren.

With fourth place from Sergio Perez and eighth place from Nico Hulkenberg, Racing Point scored six points more than McLaren, giving them an advantage of four points. Renault is also making the connection, as Ricciardo's third place brings the French team to two points ahead of McLaren.

Behind that, it also remains exciting, because while Ferrari is sinking further and further away, AlphaTauri is taking more and more points. This weekend AlphaTauri once again caught up with its big Italian brother and the gap is only thirteen points. Who would ever have expected that? Alfa Romeo and Haas finally score points again but are stuck in eighth and ninth place with five and three points respectively. Williams closes the queue without points.
