Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet are expecting their first child together, (they might have even welcomed the baby quietly), and a question that has risen is: What nationality will the baby have once they come into the world?
It is very likely that the child will be born in Monaco, where the couple resides. This does not mean, however, that the child will have the Monegasque natianlity since for this to happen, at least one of the parents is required to have a Monaco issued passport.

Piquet is Brazilian, Verstappen holds dual nationality

Kelly Piquet, despite her father Nelson's Brazilian heritage, was born in Germany. Nevertheless, Piquet herself is of Brazilian nationality. Curious fact, the super model is half Dutch with her mother hailing from the Netherlands.
Max Verstappen, on his part, holds a dual nationality. The F1 champion was born in Belgium and has a Belgian nationality as well through his mother, Sophie Kumpen. Through his father, former F1 driver, Jos Verstappen, Max also had the Dutch nationality which he has chosen to race under throughout his career in motorsport.
Logically, the couple's child, should therefore have both of their parents chosen nationalities, Dutch and Brazilian. However, this matter will be indeed clarified after the baby is welcomed into the world by his parents.
